Zuri: How'd you enjoy the shoot today?


Knotty:  I loved it. This was great. Being purely like in front of the cameras and like, being able to really be present 100% into a scene and, like, connect the partner.


Both: Yeah.


Knotty: How did you enjoy it?


Zuri: I had a great frickin’ time! (LAUGHS) It is definitely great to be able to like, as you said, connect with the partner that you're making the content with and not having to worry about the lighting or the microphone, anything like that. Yeah, fantastic time, 10/10.

Knotty: What, if anything, was challenging for you?
Zuri: Um, honestly, I think it was...I think the last part. with the last implement you used on me
Knotty: Oh, my multi-tails.
Zuri: Yeah, the multi-tails. It felt good, but I was like, "Oh, my goodness..." After especially, you know, going through all of that with the hand, and the other toys, that was the hardest part. Yeah, but it felt great. It's just now I am again, much more aware of where I like my pain to be, which is great because, you know, as I said, it's been a little while. But yeah.


Knotty: Communicating about it and asking your partner "Yes. More."
Zuri: Exactly. Yeah, yeah.
Knotty: "More."
Zuri: Yeah. Yeah. (LAUGHS)


Zuri: What was the most challenging thing for you? 
Knotty: You know, this is like, probably the best - one of the best scenes I've had. So, like, I think the challenge was for me, was not wondering about cameras.
Zuri: Okay, that makes sense.
Knotty: I'm so used to, like, "is everything in the right angle?" And so, for me to really just "Let go, Rell" and you have the ability to just focus and enjoy this time. Which was...
Zuri: Yeah.
Knotty: And I feel like, once I kind of like… once you had the first orgasm, I was like,
"All right, we're in here." (LAUGHS)


Knotty: This is -

Zuri: What are your safer sex practices?


Knotty: All my partners that aren't primary or pretty much aren't primaries. Condoms are a must. I'm tested every two weeks. I don't push that on my partners, but they do know that that's a preference for me, especially if they're seeing other people. And we communicate thoroughly. I think a lot of my communications is in conversation with my partner about updates on our other partners, also and what they've been doing and how they are with being honest and open with their other partners, also.
Zuri: All necessary


Knotty: Yeah. Yeah. What are your safer sex practices?


Zuri: Um, basically the same thing that you just said. I have like, yeah, my primary partners that I have sexy times with. If they're not my primary partner, we're definitely doing condoms, and, you know, dental dams, with whoever wants them.
Knotty: Mm hmm.


Zuri: I got a lot of things at home, like lots of condoms, dental dams, internal condoms…
Knotty: The whole prepared kit. 
Zuri: Yes. I have... lube... I have a whole prepared kit for all of that, because, you know, like, especially when it comes to safe sex in terms of not getting preggo safe, you have a vagina.
Knotty: Yeah, yeah, I'm excited. I'm in the process of planning on getting my vasectomy. So I'm pretty pumped about that. 
Zuri: I'm also in the process of getting my tubes tied.
(HIGH FIVES) I love it. I love it.
Zuri: Me too!


Knotty: I keep seeing stuff on Twitter, posts about coming in people, and like...
(ZURI, whispering) Get a vasectomy
Knotty: Yeah. In my head I'm like, I want to comment and I'm like, I'm not. Just snip it. Snip snap, snip snap... it's good.


Zuri: If you've done porn before, why do you continue to do it?
Knotty: I have done porn before and I enjoyed it. I think because A) I like expressing myself.
Zuri: Yeah.
Knotty: And more so like I'm from afar, people who don't know me, I'm very quiet, very reserved. But if people do know me, then I'm very like, I had a partner say I'm like a golden retriever, little puppy golden retriever, like I want to play with everybody. I want everybody to be cool with me. But then I'm very guard dog-ish,  where I'm like (LOW GROWLS)
Zuri: No, not everybody.


Knotty: So doing porn has helped me share my experiences and open myself to other people. And I think that I try to speak a lot on kink and BDSM and impact play and really inform people about building up into a scene and not just going straight from the diving board to the deep end.
Zuri: Exactly.


Knotty: And really curating your experiences with your partners. I think that part is the fun - I think to be honest, it's that conversation about what we're going to get into is probably more exciting a little bit, sometimes, than the actual experience. Because now it's like, okay, well if we just do this one thing the next time, Oh my God. That's in the back pocket. That's gonna be fucking awesome. 
Zuri: Exactly.


Knotty: If you've done porn before why do you... continue to do it?
Zuri: Uh, I continue to do it because it's fun and it gives me the freedom to express myself as well and showcase like, you know, just my kinky… horny...nasty self. (LAUGHS) Because that's just how I roll. And, you know, it gives me an opportunity to also, you know, just put myself like, I guess out there in terms of like, you know, more Black people doing porn who, you know, look like me - they don't have to look EXACTLY like me - but you know what I mean.
Knotty: Yeah.
Zuri: There's not a lot of alternative Black porn stars out there.
Knotty: No. 
Zuri: Like there's not a lot. There's like a few, but not too many that I see. But yeah, I do it because it's fun and I could have the freedom to choose my own schedule and live my life.


Knotty: I think that Black - representing the Black community is -
Zuri: - Yeah.
Knotty: And being like, I guess I hate to use the word "as a niche" but I feel like, like I don't prefer "BBC" terms, I don't prefer like the stereotypical mainstream sellers of, like Black terms.
Zuri: Me neither.


Knotty: And I enjoy making content and like fully pushing myself behind that and being like, don't buy my content if that's what your thought process is. I don't want it. I really don't want that money. If that's it. That's cool. Yeah. So that's awesome. Yeah.

Zuri: What has been your favorite part about quarantine?

Knotty: I think my creative drive kind of kicked in. I think it was a double-edged sword of me, like, going from my half vanilla, half this job, and then really kind of being like, okay, I have all these creative outlets. Let's just use them all and really try to figure that out as well as like tailoring it to who I really am, you know, like doing my kink business and my leather store and like making impact toys. It's like I use impact toys. It's the best thing I know how to make, explain and help people get into that. So I think quarantine brought that out in me.


Knotty: And then also like relying on my not necessarily relying on myself, but trusting myself more than I have before. Yeah, especially all that alone time. You got to really feel yourself.


Zuri: Yeah, that's true.

Zuri: I'm being honest. Like, because when I get to go outside, It's like, "Oh there's a million people outside." the last couple, you know, months to, like, year, though, it's been less of that. But the other favorite thing I think would be just easy access to, like, just getting shit delivered.
Knotty: Mm. I was gonna say porn also, I feel like quarantine really kicked my porn game up. (LAUGHS) Actually now I'm like, okay, my first statement was second. Porn has been the best thing. Because I also started researching more porn stars and creators and figuring out this game of, like everyone's space and how to really, again, curate that and feel comfortable with the community.

Zuri: I know technically we're still in the pandemic but it doesn't feel like it.
Knotty: No
